Public Comment Policy
Meetings of the Maryland Historical Trust (MHT) Board of Trustees are open to the public. Each meeting includes a public comment period so members of the public can share their views with the Board.
- Topics for public comment: Members of the public may comment on any topic related to the work of MHT. Comments are made at the beginning of the meeting and are directed to the Board as a whole. The Board does not respond during the meeting.
- Time limits: Each speaker may speak for up to three minutes, unless the Chair sets a different time limit. The Chair moderates the public comment period.
- Signing up to speak: Anyone who wishes to speak must sign up before the meeting begins. The speakers list is available at least 15 minutes before the meeting and closes when the meeting starts. Speakers are called in the order they sign up and must list their name, contact information, organizational affiliation (if any), and topic.
